Despite the variety of films released this year, I was able to narrow it down to five.  The following are my five 2009 personal favorites, feel free to disagree.

5) The Hangover

There were several comedies I enjoyed this year (Bruno, Couples Retreat, and The Ugly Truth).  However, The Hangover made me laugh the most.  Just remember to keep watching as the credits roll.  Here is the trailer:

4) The Wrestler

An aging professional wrestler facing health problems has to work part-time in a grocery store to survive.  This is a must see for wresting fans.  Here is the trailer:

3) The Hurt Locker

The Hurt Locker is about the minds of dedicated soldiers.  It is packed with action and will keep you on your toes.  Just watch the first 5 minutes of the film and you will see what I am writing about.  Here is the trailer:       

2) Everbody's Fine

 It takes a road trip for a widower (Robert DeNiro) to find out who his children really are.  This is not your typical corny, Hollywood, family film.  The cast does a great job and if your a softy make sure you have a tissue box sitting next to you.  Here is the trailer:

1)  Inglorious Bastards

Set in early June 1944, this revengeful film is about a team of Jewis-American soldiers who brutally kill Nazis.  This is one of the funniest war dramas ever made.  Here is the trailer:

By the way, you can go ahead and skip the over rated film Precious. Watch Sin Nombre instead.  Here is the trailer:
